California, Here I Come

I have accepted a 13-week assignment in Santa Maria, CA at my old hospital. I am excited to see my old friends and co-workers and visit the beautiful central coast.
Travel nursing has changed a bit in the past 10 years. For instance, I had to find my own housing, a bit of a challenge, but I found a nice place in SLO that I think will be the ideal refuge after a crazy busy day in the ER.
I start on April 8 and will be leaving Oregon on April 5.

Fresh Start

I won't go into all the details about why I left my job. After a final incident at work kicked me over the edge, I decided I needed a change. My only hesitation was leaving some of the best co-workers I've ever had. It's also hard to leave a wonderful group of doctors because, as an ER nurse whose been to several emergency departments over the past 23 years, I can say the docs can make or break your experience in an ER.
